Laser Treatment For Varicose Veins
Our technology and science has given us the ability to use lasers over the last few years to treat various ailments. Although we have had the technology, using a laser in the treatment of varicose veins is relatively new to us. Laser energy is used to seal the tiny spiders in many practices. Although the laser may temporarily evaporate some of the tiny spider veins, it does not address the problem that created the spider veins. As the result most of the spiders recur soon after the laser treatment.
Varicose vein laser treatment will not affect the larger varicose or spider veins from outside because the amount of heat required from the laser would do significant damage to the skin. Spider veins mostly originate from the varicose veins .
Endo- Laser Techniques
Endo-laser technique uses a laser fiber to generate heat inside the saphenous vein in the inner thigh, running from the groin to the knee, destroying part of the saphenous vein and leaving it inside the body. In some patients, the heat from the laser damages the surrounding tissue, causing blood clots in the larger deep veins. This is not a desirable complication and can create significant concern for the physician as well as the patient. We DO NOT recommend this technique as the best option to eliminate varicose veins.
Varicose Vein Laser Treatment
Skin damage and pigmentation is another possible complication of this technique. Almost 40% of our patients have had these procedures done in the past with no improvement in their legs. Our patented technique does not use any heat so there is no heat damage to the deeper veins. There is never any disability or any major anesthesia on any patients. All the leaks and feeding veins have to be closed in order to create a near perfect leg. All the lower leaks are identified and sealed using foam Sclerotherapy as well. Over 99% of our patients will have a near perfect leg at the completion of their treatments.
